Barmherziger Vater! Gott meiner Voreltern! vor dir schütte ich heute mein Herz aus, bei der Einsegnung des neuen Mondes! Der du von jeher dem Volke Israel deine gnädigen Blicke zugewendet, der du meinen Vorältern und mir so oft deine reiche, unerschöpfliche Liebe hast angedeihen lassen, o würdige auch heute mich und die Meinigen alle deines väterlichen Segens. Laß einen Strahl deiner ewigen Gnade unsern Lebenspfad erleuchten. Behüte uns mit deiner Allgüte, daß wir nicht straucheln auf dem Wege des Lebens. |
Merciful Father! God of my forefathers! Before you I pour out my heart today, at the blessing of the new moon! You who have always turned your merciful gaze upon the people of Yisrael, who have often bestowed upon my forefathers and me your abundant, inexhaustible love, O honor me and mine also today with all your fatherly blessings. Let a ray of your eternal grace illuminate our path through life. Protect us with your abundant goodness, so that we do not stumble on the path of life. |
Gieb uns auch, Vater im Himmel, unsern Lebensbedarf auf eine ehrenvolle Art, damit wir nicht in die traurige Nothwendigkeit gerathen, die Hülfe der Menschen in Anspruch nehmen zu müssen. |

Protect us, O all-good Father, always from this bitter experience, for we know well that the weak arm of man is not sufficient to help, but that only your almighty hand is able to dispense good, just as the pious King David says: God opens his hand and satisfies all living creatures (Psalms 145:16) with benevolence. |
